Everything we share, support, and do is based upon the evidenced-based research and principles that guide our work.

The Wellness Roadmap: A framework for collective impact and creating a resilient culture of health

The Wellness Roadmap is an open invitation to participate in creating a culture of health – using it as a compass that points in the direction toward a common destination – a thriving Lake County.

The Six Dimensions of Wellness

The six dimensions of wellness – physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, occupational and social – are each important on their own and even more so because they are interconnected.

Protective Factors

Protective factors are conditions or attributes in individuals, families, communities, or the larger society that, when present, mitigate or eliminate risk in families and communities that, when present, increase the health and well-being of children and families. Protective factors help parents to find resources, supports, or coping strategies that allow them to parent effectively, even under stress.

Adverse Childhood Experiences

Childhood experiences, both positive and negative, have a tremendous impact on future violence victimization and perpetration, and lifelong health and opportunity. As such, early experiences are an important public health issue.

Nurturing Parenting

The Nurturing Parenting Programs are a family-centered trauma-informed initiative designed to build nurturing parenting skills as an alternative to abusive and neglecting parenting and child-rearing practices. The long term goals are to prevent recidivism in families receiving social services, lower the rate of multi-parent teenage pregnancies, reduce the rate of juvenile delinquency and alcohol abuse, and stop the intergenerational cycle of child abuse by teaching positive parenting behaviors.

Our work is to take these principles and help make them practical and applicable to the lives of Lake County citizens and the daily work of our businesses and organizations, by reinforcing their messages, and providing support and resources that bring them to life in our daily lives.
